Service Overview

Merpay is a payment methods provided by Merpay. You can use the payment information registered in your Merpay account to pay for Item and other expenses.

End users can make payments using points awarded by Mercari for points purchased with Mercari Settlement money, campaigns, etc., Merpay balance, top-up payment, and merpay smart payment.

The available billing systems and billing system-specific basic specifications are as follows. Each period of time for processing settlement, cancellation, and others performed by the payment administration tool is based on the tool.

※2: Settlement can only be made once. We do not offer a multiple Settlement function. When using "designated Settlement", if Settlement is made for an amount less than the provisional Settlement amount, the amount designated in Settlement will be the actual Settlement, and the remaining amount will be Refund to the end user. In addition, you cannot designate an amount higher than the provisional Settlement amount.

Payment validity limit
When an end user performs a Payment, there is a time limit of 20 minutes from the time the end user launches the Mercari app or Transition on the screen provided by Merpay until the Payment is completed. In the case of Payment by PC, the remaining time limit is displayed on "QR code screen".
If Payment is not completed within 20 minutes, an alert dialog will be displayed on QR code screen. If you make Payment via a smartphone browser, Payment that is not completed within 20 minutes will be invalid and treated as an error.

Mercari App Integration
When an end user makes a purchase using a smartphone with the Mercari app installed, the Mercari app will automatically launch and make the payment. However, if the Mercari app is not installed, if the Mercari app is not launched correctly, or if the usage environment is not appropriate, the "Mercari app launch guidance screen" will be displayed on the smartphone, prompting the end user to install or launch the Mercari app as appropriate.

Fraud Investigations and Payment Withholding
Merpay may investigate fraudulent use and withhold payment (refuse to purchase receivables) if an end user reports a defective Item or that they do not remember using the service, or if they suspect fraudulent use by a third party. If Merpay contacts us, we will promptly inform merchant of the situation, so please respond according to the information we receive. If payment withholding is confirmed, the Settlement amount will not be subject to settlement and will be borne by merchant. For more information, please refer to the Important Information Document provided at the time of application.

Specifications
Merpay provides services provided by Merpay by incorporating them into Online Payment ASP Service. Please note that if Merpay changes its specifications or economic conditions, the specifications of the Merpay provided by Merpay may also change accordingly.

Service Suspension Due to Maintenance, etc.
Online Payment ASP Service carry out maintenance on an irregular basis. If there is a service interruption due to maintenance, we will notify you in advance and then suspend the service. As a rule, we will notify you at least one week in advance. However, this does not apply in the case of emergency maintenance.
In addition, if a service outage occurs due to system maintenance or a malfunction caused by Merpay or its partners other than our system, we will notify merchant as soon as we become aware of the situation and investigate the cause. We will notify merchant as soon as we have determined the cause, but please note that if the cause is not attributable to our company, it may take some time to determine the cause.
