Service Overview

Rakuten Edy payment is a payment methods provided by Rakuten. You can use the E-money charged to your Rakuten Edy to pay for Item, etc.

Main Features

  • You can charge your card in a variety of ways, including cash, credit card, and Rakuten Super Points.
  • You can make payments by simply holding up Rakuten Edy card or Osaifu-Keitai (Mobile wallet) without having to enter your ID or password.
    *Only available if you have a PC with a FeliCa port or Rakuten Edy reader.
  • If you have Osaifu-Keitai (Mobile wallet) with Mobile Rakuten Edy app installed, you can make payments using the app.
    *Some devices may not be available.

Payment Refunds

Please note that due to the connection specifications with Rakuten Edy system, if the notification of Payment result fails (including Not Approved), rollback may not be possible and the charge may still be incurred. In this case, it is necessary to contact the end user and process the refund.
In addition, we use the "Edy Gift" service for Refund. This is a service in which the end user must explicitly receive the amount. In the unlikely event that the end user is unable to receive the "Edy Gift" within the Refund deadline on Rakuten Edy Card or Mobile Rakuten Edy app, the amount will be returned to merchant as a "Refund" on the statement of the month following Refund deadline, so we ask that merchant Refund directly to the end user.

Unauthorized Usage Investigations and Chargebacks

Rakuten may investigate fraudulent use and issue a chargeback (refusal to purchase credit) if an end user reports a defective Item or that they do not remember using the product, or if they suspect fraudulent use by a third party. If we receive a call from Rakuten, we will promptly inform merchant of the situation, so please respond according to the contact information. If a chargeback is confirmed, the Settlement amount will not be subject to settlement and will be borne by merchant. For more information, please refer to the Important Information Explanation Document provided at the time of application.

Specifications

Rakuten Edy payment is provided by incorporating the services provided by Rakuten into Online Payment ASP Service. Please note that if Rakuten makes any changes to its specifications or economic terms, the specifications of the Rakuten Edy payment provided by our company may also change accordingly.

Service Suspension Due to Maintenance, etc.

Online Payment ASP Service carry out maintenance on an irregular basis. If there is a service interruption due to maintenance, we will notify you in advance and suspend the service. As a rule, we will notify you at least one week in advance. However, this does not apply in the case of emergency maintenance.
In addition, if a service outage occurs due to system maintenance or a malfunction of Rakuten or a Rakuten partner other than our system, we will notify merchant as soon as we become aware of the situation and investigate the cause. We will notify merchant as soon as we have identified the cause, but please note that if the cause is not attributable to our company, it may take some time to identify the cause.
